ABOUT LINSY NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL

OVERVIEW

Linsy Nursery and Primary School is a co-educational school. Our Nursery and Primary school is located in Igbo-Efon Lekki. It was founded on 18th September 1999 with the aim of providing the best possible basic education following the curriculum guidelines for pre-primary and primary schools from Lagos State Ministry of Education.

The school was established to bring private education nearer to the people of Igbo-Efon and its environs. We run both the Nigerian and the British Educational Curriculum.

We teach children aged from 2 years in our kindergarten class, up to 11 years in Class 6. Over the past years, we have worked so hard to develop and maintain the good values in our school, with the aim of encouraging pupils to take greater responsibility for their behaviour and learning, help and support the child’s development physically, mentally, socially and intellectually.

The activities designed for the pupils are not just to teach them only but for them to be thinkers and problem solvers thus making them self-dependent.

ACADEMICS

At Linsy, we run both the Nigerian Curriculum and British Curriculum.

Nursery School Curriculum

ages 2-5 years – is a blend of Montessori system with the traditional method which incorporates personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, numeracy, physical and creative development through art, music, dance, outdoor activities, knowledge and understanding of the science concepts.

Primary School Curriculum

ages 5-11 years. Core subjects: English/Verbal, Mathematics/ Non-Verbal, Primary Science. It also includes Spelling/ Phonetics, Essay writing, Geography, History, ICT, Music, Art, Physical and health education, French, Vocational Aptitude, Social and Civic Studies, Moral instruction and Handwriting.

My years of teaching experience proved to me that embracing good values of education helps children grow into well-balanced individuals, who can contribute positively to society. I am convinced that basic values like respect, cooperation, patience, love, tolerance and honesty will help our children get the most of every aspect of their school life.

Over the past years, we worked so hard to develop and maintain good values in our school with the aim of encouraging pupils to take greater responsibility for their behavior and learning.

Our school maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio, typically ranging from 8:1 to 12:1 depending on the age group. This allows for personalized attention and support for each student.

HOW SAFE IS THE TRANSPORTATION PLEASE?

Our school busses are maintained regularly and are driven by highly experienced and trained drivers. Students on the bus are also accompanied by a minder who makes sure every child is handed over to their parents/guardians.
